Mark Pearson
Over the decades, since the establishment of Crosstate Auctioneers in Boksburg, the company has earned an enviable reputation as a top-class diversified auctioneering solutions provider for a wide and growing array of clients.
In recent years, the company has been run by Mark Pearson who joined his dad and founder, Patrick, and has successfully managed the business. Since those early days in 2003, Mark has grown alongside his father and eventually taken over the reins to become a long-serving and respected personality in the auctioneering industry in South Africa. Even during trying times, his keen interest in business management has been key to ensure the company’s success.
"Each day is different," Pearson remarks, emphasising the dynamic nature of the industry and the constant challenge it presents, which he finds exhilarating.
Specialising in commercial vehicles, mining, construction, agriculture and more recently, cars, Crosstate Auctioneers has garnered a reputation for excellence, which Mark attributes to his father and his partner, Gary, who have served as mentors throughout his career.
Despite the successes, challenges persist. Pearson highlights the balancing act of satisfying both buyers and sellers. Additionally, navigating through government policies and procedures, particularly licensing requirements, has been a hurdle the company has had to overcome.
Crosstate Auctioneers operates on a national scale, offering its services across various sectors. Looking ahead, Mark has plans for expansion into the property space, a move that signifies the company's ambition and adaptability.
