When speaking about an auctioneer who has his dreams set in the right direction, Lungelo Matiwane, SAIA member and business partner of Michael James Auctioneers comes to mind.
Lungelo began his auctioneering journey 14 years ago. “I was serving as an attorney and conveyancer as well as a national prosecuting authority (NPA) advocate.” He goes on saying that his relationships with attorneys and curators had a huge impact on his career and influenced his decision to enter a market where his skills could make a positive impact in resolving financial matters and debt.
With impressive skills gained including networking skills, marketing prowess and negotiation skills has given him a flair dealing with people. “With all this experience I realized I would do a great deed to my life by partnering with Michael James himself
Lungelo specializes in auctioneering of property, catering, offices, earth-moving, mining equipment and industrial assets. You'll find him in Somerset West, a town situated in the Western Cape, with plans to expand to Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and Mpumalanga and is in search of additional black auctioneering representatives like himself.
Lungelo faced a few tough obstacles in his career such as gaining institutional clients, finding lucrative private sector businesses and building a reputation. He exclaimed that his journey through joining business was challenging. Boasting about accomplishing a three-year contract in the Eastern and Western Cape appointed by the assets forfeiture units (AFU) and national prosecuting authorities (NPA) as well as South African revenue services (SARS).
He shows us that tough strategies help businesses grow and thrive. “It's safe to say that after many years of hard work and challenges faced, my dream of running a successful auctioneering business is moving in the right direction.”
