Henco de Kock - Elite Auctions

Henco de Kock, founder of Elite Auctions, entered the auction industry through an unconventional route. Having started his career in insolvencies, his work gradually exposed him to the world of auctions. 

"I’d say it’s the auction chant that first drew me," Henco reflects, attributing his passion and success to the guidance of his faith. “I am grateful for the guidance that Jesus has given me to be where I am now.”

As a first-generation auctioneer, his journey into auctioneering has been deeply personal and spiritual. He credits the Holy Spirit as his inspiration for starting Elite Auctions, and his unwavering faith has been a cornerstone of his entrepreneurial path.

With eight years of experience in the industry, he thrives on the energy of auction day. “The excitement, the thrill, the chant, the sales, and even the boerie rolls—auction days are definitely my favourite part of being an auctioneer,” he shares.

He acknowledges that his growth as an auctioneer has been shaped by the mentorship of various industry professionals. “I’ve worked for a few auctioneers before starting Elite and learned a lot of good from them,” he explains. However, he emphasizes that his ultimate mentor has been the Holy Spirit, who has guided him through people and situations, “too many to mention.”

Elite Auctions was established in 2022, and since then, the company has seen remarkable growth. “We started Elite and never looked back. The journey has been an adventure, full of challenges and victories. Without a challenge, there is nothing to be victorious over.”
Operating nationally from their headquarters in Krugersdorp, Elite Auctions specialises in property and movables. The company is also making strides into the mining industry and has plans to expand into livestock auctions.

Elite Auctions has achieved significant milestones since its inception. Starting from nothing as a startup and growing to a company that has hosted 25 live auctions this year is its biggest accomplishment. While the company has already conducted several notable auctions, it’s the steady growth and resilience that stand out as its most noteworthy achievements.

In just two years, Elite Auctions has established itself as a dynamic and growing force in the auction industry.
