Charles Rwizi
Charles Rwizi, an Individual Auctioneer and SAIA Board Member has had over 15 years of experience in the industry and credits the late Peter Lovemore as his mentor. He fondly remembers Lovemore as “a well sought-after Auctioneer who was easily recognised by his cattle and machine gun chant.”
Charles trained as a General Auctioneer which has enabled him to work in any and all sectors including vehicles; livestock; movables and thoroughbred horses, amongst others. “This has equipped me well to be able to work anywhere,” he said.
As an Auctioneer, the thought of the adrenaline, being able to control the sale and interacting with various clientele probably sends an excited shiver down your spine. Well, it clearly sends that same shiver down Charles’, as these are his favourite aspects of being an Auctioneer.
“Auction set up is by no means easy. Financial constraints and insufficient systems are always a hindrance,” Charles said about the journey he has been on so far. He also says that breaking into a very tough, competitive industry is by far the biggest challenge.
Available country-wide, Charles says his biggest accomplishment thus far has been “being able to break into the podium in the thoroughbred racing auctions and holding my own despite very difficult circumstances.”
We are grateful for all that Charles brings to SAIA through his Auctioneering and Board Membership and look forward to many more years of success together! If you are looking for a dynamic and trained Auctioneer to take your business and auctions to the next level, get in touch with Charles as he always has time for you!
