Information on FIC for Members

Courtesy reminder

Dear Member

This is just a courtesy notification to you to ensure you are up to date with the necessary requirements.

We have been advised by a few of our members that they have been audited by The FIC.

Please ensure that you are up to date and comply with the necessary.

What is the FIC?
The Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) was established in terms of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 2001 (Act 38 of 2001) (FIC Act). The FIC Act works in concert with the Prevention of Organised Crime Act, 1998 (Act 121 of 1998) and the Protection of Constitutional Democracy against Terrorist and Related Activities Act, 2004 (Act 33 of 2004).

It is an institution that functions outside the public service but within the public administration. The primary purpose of the Centre is to assist in the identification of the proceeds of unlawful activities and to combat money laundering activities as well as the financing of terrorism and related activities.
