On Wednesday the 4th of October, Park Village Auctions’ floor was a splendid sight: packed with an assortment of vehicles from everyday workhorses to collector’s pieces. The undisputed highlight being a 2013 Ferrari 458 Italia which sold for an impressive R3.3m.

“While more buyers turn to car auctions as a means to pick up quality used vehicles at good rates, there is no exception for supercars and classics either” Says PVA’s Clive Lazarus.

The trademark red Ferrari –which is no stranger to speed– sold almost as fast as it takes for this magnificent sports car to reach its top speed (recorded at 340km/h).

PVA’s bank repossession centre was abuzz with collectors both on the floor and online as buyers furiously bid over their vehicles of choice. Notable sales were as follows:

A 2012 Mclaren MP4-12C (18072km’s) sold for R1.95m
A 2014 Audi R8 V8 (8 860km’s) sold for R855 000
A 2015 BMW M6 (27 103km’s) sold for R800 000
A 1966 Austin 850 (75 599 miles) sold for R137 000
A 2014 Jaguar F-Type 5.0 (21 498km’s) sold for R720 000
A 2015 BMW I8 Coupé (102 142km’s) sold for 700 000
A 2014 BMW M4 (38 324km’s) sold for R640 000
